The Investigation Jack goes to investigate. He finds the elevator empty but covered in party streamers and confetti. A mask lies on the floor. The Confirmation Wendy sees the mask and realizes the hotel is haunted. The elevator is a conduit for the hotel's supernatural activity.

The Ballroom Party

The Ghostly Revelry The Music Jack hears music and laughter from the ballroom. He goes to investigate and finds a lavish party in progress. Guests in costumes dance and drink. The Unmasking At midnight, the guests unmask, revealing rotting faces. The party is a death masque. Jack is horrified. The Illusion The party is a manifestation of the hotel's power. It is a lure to trap Jack. The hotel uses the party to seduce him into staying forever.

The Phantom Bartender

The Colorado Lounge The Hallucination Jack goes to the Colorado Lounge and hallucinates a bartender named Lloyd. The bar is fully stocked. Jack orders martinis and drinks. The Conversation Jack talks to Lloyd about his problems. He feels understood. The hallucination is a manifestation of his desire to drink. The Trap The hotel uses the illusion to break Jack's sobriety. Once he drinks, he becomes more susceptible to the hotel's influence.
